After years of avoiding it we finally decided to attend the Buellton Eggstravaganza at the local park near our house in lieu of having an Easter Egg hunt at the house. I knew we had a lot of kids in the Valley, but to see so many of them all in one place was quite amazing. On Saturday, April 3, our local Presbyterian church “hid” thousands of eggs for the different age groups and they were all picked up in under 15 minutes. The pictures just don’t do the insanity justice. It was a mad rush to get to the eggs before they were all gone and Tyler was a little overwhelmed with it all. He didn’t understand why he couldn’t just take his time like in years past and he was a little disappointed in the amount of eggs in his basket. If we do it next year hopefully he’ll understand the need to be fast. After the hunt there was a little area with a petting zoo, games, crafts, and food for the whole family to enjoy. It was a fun morning/afternoon.

Near the end of Spring Break on April 8th we spent the better part of a day down in Santa Barbara and Goleta with friends. We visited the Ty Warner Sea Center for the first time and then drove over to Goleta Beach to enjoy some perfect beach weather. Tyler wasn’t too into the Sea Center, but was anxious to get over to the beach to get some good play time in. All the same it was a fun day and we had a great time hanging out with our friends.

Tyler is always picking flowers for Mommy, but after picking our garden dry Daddy told him not to pick flowers anymore. So Tyler decided he needed to grow his own flowers and became obsessed with planting a garden. Then he could pick all the flowers he wanted for Mommy and Daddy wouldn’t be upset because they were his flowers to do anything he wanted with them. Luckily we had just the spot in the front yard. So Tyler and Mommy hit Home Depot one day during the week to pick out flower. Then one weekend afternoon Tyler and Daddy set about planting them in Tyler’s designated garden. He did a great job digging holes, adding fertilizer and putting the plants in the holes. He was so proud of his work and do were Mommy and Daddy.
